The 2026 Ohio Valley Blizzard was one of the most powerful blizzards to affect the Kentuckiana Region since the 1970s, causing record snowfall and wind gusts up to 70 mph. The storm lasted from January 20-22, 2026, with the worst of the storm occurring in Southern Indiana on January 21. A top snowfall of 37.8 inches was recorded in Williams, Indiana, and a top wind gust of 84 mph was recorded in Salem, Indiana. Overall, 13 fatalities occurred, and damages from the system amounted to around $1.5 billion (2026 USD). It was one of four major storms to strike the Ohio Valley during the 2025-26 North American winter. The same system brought severe weather to the Dixie Alley, with 13 tornadoes reported, including a deadly EF2 tornado near Tunica, Missisippi.
